Wayne County Community College, or WCCC, is a community college with its headquarters located in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. The College currently has 6 campuses. These campuses include Eastern, Western, Downtown, Downriver, Northwest, and University Square. The college was established in Michigan in 1967.
The Downriver Campus is located in Taylor, Michigan and it was founded in 1978. The Northwest Campus was formerly located in Greenfield Road near Dearborn City, but is now located in Northwest Detroit. The downtown campus is found along Fort Street in downtown Detroit. The Eastern Campus is located on Detroit's eastside. It is located on Connor Road just north of Warren Avenue near the I-94 freeway exit. The University Square campus in Harper Woods is the newest school, just opening in January 2009. The campus, also known as the Grosse Pointe/Harper Woods Campus Center was originally found by Harper Woods' Eastland Mall.
Wayne County Community College offers several course programs that can earn a student an Associate's Degree or a College Certificate. The school has semesters during the spring, 16 weeks from January to May, a summer semester from May to July/August, and a of 16 week fall semester fromAugust to December.
Wayne County Community College has completed over 40 years of uninterrupted operation and development of comprehensive educational services. The college affects, both directly and indirectly, the students and the over 2 million people living within the College's service district. These people have enjoyed the benefits of constantly improved instructional programs and community services offered by the college system.
